MICAH RICHARDS MAKES ZAHA POINT AS HE AGREES WITH BBC PUNDIT

Wilfried Zaha proved to be the match winner as Crystal Palace came from behind to beat Wolves at Selhurst Park on Tuesday, after Ebere Eze had equalised for the Eagles. Micah Richards says he feels Wilfried Zaha is one of the most underrated players in the Premier League. The Crystal Palace forward netted his fifth goal of the season against Wolves on Tuesday night as the Eagles came from behind to win at Selhurst Park after Eberechi Eze had cancelled out Adama Traore’s opener for the visitors.

Zaha and Eze were both instrumental in the turnaround, not just because of their goals, but with their link-up play as Palace got on the front foot in the second half of the contest. And BBC pundit Ashley Williams said he felt Palace got the best out of Zaha – and Eze – by playing the Ivorian in a more central role, rather than out on the wing.

RICHARDS URGES MAN CITY TO GO FOR DESTINY UDOGIE AFTER CUCURELLA MISS

According to reputed Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Manchester City are considering a move for Udinese left-back Destiny Udogie. Although the 19-year-old only joined the Serie A club permanently in July from Hellas Verona, Udinese could be looking to make a hefty profit with his sale, with Tottenham also interested. Destiny Udogie had a fantastic 2021/22 season at Udinese, which prompted the Serie A outfit to pay the €4 million to make the signing permanent. However, Udinese could be in for a hefty profit if the interest from Premier League clubs like Manchester City and Tottenham firms up.

Udogie played 35 times in Serie A for Udinese last term, scoring five times. And there has been considerable interest from Tottenham in the young left-back, with Udinese already rejecting a bid from the north London giants. Tottenham are expected to go back with a fresh bid, only this time there are more clubs in the mix for the Italian left-back. Manchester City are reportedly interested in bringing the 19-year-old to the Etihad, as Pep Guardiola continues to search for options at left-back.

WOLVES WANT TO SIGN PLAYER WHO MICAH RICHARDS LOVES HIS PASSION

Wolves are planning to make a move to sign Burnley full-back, Connor Roberts, according to a report from The Sun this weekend. Roberts has emerged as a target for Bruno Lage this summer after a series of fine performances for the Clarets last season, despite their relegation. The Welshman, who is expected to be part of the squad for Qatar, is one of a number of players who Burnley could lose this summer. James Tarkowski is on his way to Everton, while others could also follow suit. And according to The Sun, it is Wolves who want to lure Roberts.

Bruno Lage is looking to strengthen the ranks and build on a fine season at Molineux. Roberts fits the bill, having impressed against Wolves last season. Indeed, it was after that 1-0 Burnley win that Micah Richards sung the praises of Roberts, lauding the Burnley man for his ‘passion and desire’ to defend. Wolves have already tried and failed once to get Roberts but are expected to go back with another bid. Along with Roberts, Wolves are also looking to sign his teammate, Nathan Collins.

SHEARER AND MICAH RICHARDS IN AGREEMENT OVER HAALAND

Manchester City could have reached the FA Cup final if they had a world-class striker like Erling Haaland leading the line against Liverpool. That is the opinion of Alan Shearer and Micah Richards, who believe City’s wastefulness in front of goal cost them dear in the 3-2 FA Cup semi-final defeat by Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

City missed the chance to reach the Wembley showpiece after finding themselves 3-0 down before half-time against Jurgen Klopp’s side. Ibrahima Konate headed in a corner to open the scoring before Zack Steffen’s mistake was seized upon by Sadio Mane for 2-0 and the Liverpool forward added a second with a stunning volley before the break.

CHELSEA PLAYERS DELIGHTED WITH LUKAKU, WERNER

Micah Richards believes that Chelsea players would be buzzing in the away dressing room after they came from behind twice to beat English Championship side Luton Town in what was a fifth round tie in the FA Cup.

Shortly after the game on Wednesday night, Micah Richards told BBC Sports that the Chelsea players would have wanted strikers RomeluLukaku and Timo Werner to score to boost their confidence in front of goal and the two attackers did just that. Micah Richards believes that Chelsea would benefit from the confidence that scoring will give both Werner and Lukaku with the team still in the fight to win both the Champions League and the FA Cup titles this season.
