Dwight Yorke confirms interest in Aston Villa job

Former Aston Villa star Dwight Yorke has revealed that he is interested in becoming the next Villains boss after Steve Bruce was sacked from the position. Bruce had been the subject of criticism from a section of the supporters after helping the club to just one league win from the previous nine Championship matches and this eventually saw him being axed from his position.

Since then, a number of high-profile names including Thierry Henry and David Moyes have been associated with the role but speaking to Sky Sports, Yorke has admitted that he has submitted his resume for the vacancy, he said: “I’ve made the necessary move and I’ve sent in my CV and I’m actually trying to make contact with the chief executive of the football club. I’m doing everything on my side to make sure I’m given that opportunity to speak to them. It’s a job I’m 100% interested in, I’ve made it very clear I’d like to speak to the football club.Whether that happens or not I’m still waiting on a telephone call.”

Agbonlahor And Richards Working Hard To Stay In Shape

Aston Villa legend Micah Richards and Gabriel Agbonlahor are making the rounds online as their fitness work out videos circulate. The forgotten Villa stars were taped working on their boxing skills at the club gym.

Together they have over 500 Premier League appearances under the belt. However, they have struggled to remain relevant this term, playing only a combined 252 minutes in the senior team. While Richards is yet to be named in a Championship game, Agbonlahor has featured six times. Richards really has not played since October 15, 2016.

RICHARDS PARTING WAYS WITH VILLA

Counting from October 15 of 2016 until the time of writing this article, which is October 26 of 2017, that’s a time-lapse of over 1 year where the English defender has not made a single competitive appearance for his club Aston Villa.

The last time that Micah Richards represented Aston Villa in an actual match was against Wolverhampton back on October of 2016 and from there on out, Richards has had to settle with a place on the sidelines as an unused substitute player.
