Aston Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer has revealed that the dressing room has been buzzing following the late triumph over Sheffield Wednesday on the road. The Villains appeared on course for a hard-fought 1-1 draw against the Owls at the weekend, but they managed to make a sensational comeback right at the end with both Albert Adomah and Tammy Abraham scoring in injury time.

Speaking after the game, Steer was delighted with the eventual outcome of the game and stated that the team will analyse on potential areas where they can improve from the Sheffield trip, he said: “To nick it at the end was great. We were under quite a bit of pressure in that second half. To come away with all three points at the end was brilliant. The dressing room was rocking. We will now analyse it and see where we could have done better but at the end of the day, three points at this stage of the season is massive. The whole dressing room is together. We have a very strong bond as a group.”

With the result, the Villains secured their sixth league victory on the bounce and they are currently placed in the playoff zone with a three-point advantage over seventh-placed Derby County. Next up, they are scheduled to face Rotherham United on the road and they should fancy the prospects of another victory with the excellent scoring form of late.

Rotherham have proved a tough opposition especially in front of their home supporters, but the Villains should nonetheless go into the game with the confidence to prevail with Tammy Abraham and John McGinn enjoying a good run of goalscoring form. The previous meeting between the sides ended in a 2-0 triumph for the Villains. Abraham and Yannick Bolasie were the scorers back then.
