Sterling says City can have successful season without league title

Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling has said that the Citizens are on course for a successful season despite the fact that they have not been able to compete with Liverpool for the Premier League crown. Jurgen Klopp’s side have been in splendid form throughout the top-flight season and they are currently on course to win the league title with a number of games to spare.

Speaking in an interview, Sterling acknowledged that the Citizens were not consistent enough in the Premier League and credit must go to the Reds, who have been by far the better team in the division, he told: “The Premier League, the bread and butter, fair play to Liverpool they have been better than everyone. I wouldn’t say we gave up – we weren’t consistent enough for long enough. We didn’t purposely give away the title.”
